Recruitment
Deck was considered a Michigan lean before abruptly committing to Baylor early in the summer. It didn’t take long for Deck to reconsider his decision as he flipped from Baylor to Michigan in July. Michigan secondary coach LaMar Morgan led the way in his recruitment.
He Said It
“It felt right. It felt like home. The coaching staff really believes in me. They made it easy for me to go. The people believe in me and can help me be successful. Coach Morgan played a big role. What everybody likes about Coach Morgan is he doesn’t blow smoke up your butt. When he recruits you, it’s, ‘hey, this is what I see in your game, and this is how I can make you great.’ He knows what I need to work on. If I can strengthen my weaknesses, that’s a coach I want to play for.”

They Said It
“He’s such a versatile kid. He’s such a big body. He’s put on a lot of muscle. He’s long. He plays so hard. He loves the game. I think he can do so much for them. I think he may have a chance to jump in there and compete pretty quick. He’s such a quick learner and big-time competitor. He plays so dang hard. That’s what separated him from so many other people. He loves the game of football. There may be someone faster than him, but he’ll play faster because of how competitive he is and the effort he gives.” — Lone Star head coach Jeff Rayburn
Scouting Report
“Jordan Deck is a well-rounded safety prospect. He has good size. He’s a guy you can certainly see is going to play north of 200 pounds at the college level. He can kind of do a little bit of everything. You see him show good range in coverage. You see him come down and play in the box. He has physicality, is a sound tackler and is a guy who is a smooth mover. I would say he moves fairly well in terms of change of direction at his size. He plays good competition. Frisco Lone Star has churned out several NFL Draft picks in the past couple of years. He’s going to come into college well coached and fairly seasoned with the competition he plays on Friday nights.” — Rivals Rankings Director Charles Power
