Michigan officially signed three-star Wilmett (Ill.) Loyola Academy offensive tackle Tommy Fraumann Wednesday.

Here is everything you need to know about the towering legacy lineman as he realizes his lifelong dream of wearing the Maize and Blue.

The Skinny

Height:
6-7
Weight:

250 pounds
Industry Ranking:

No. 857 overall, No. 65 offensive tackle, No. 21 in Illinois
Interesting Facts: Mother and father were both Michigan student athletes and met in Ann Arbor

Recruitment

Fraumann committed to Miami (Ohio) early on in the recruiting cycle after falling in love with the MAC program. Only one school was going to sway him from that pledge— Michigan. He spent most of his childhood in Ann Arbor, and his mother worked for the athletic department. Fraumann stormed the Michigan Stadium field in 2021 when U-M took down Ohio State. The lineman earned an offer from the Wolverines in the fall and, after taking an official visit to Ann Arbor, he flipped to Michigan.

He Said It

“The fact that this dream of mine, playing at Michigan, is coming true is just unbelievable,” Fraumann said. “Ever since I was a kid, I’ve had dreams of playing football there and going to the school.”

They Said It

“He definitely was more confident, more aggressive. He wasn’t really too worried about the recruiting process anymore because he was already pretty much committed to Miami (Ohio) at the time. He was there playing freely. He didn’t have really a care in the world, and he knew that. Just watching him play this past season, he was a lot more loose and more agile and just willing to go out there and put it all on the line to say the least.” — Fraumann’s trainer Nate Oquendo

Scouting Report

“On tape, Fraumann is raw, but you can see the frame and upside. He does play with some physicality and is well coached. Loyola is one of the better programs in the Chicago area, so Fraumann plays quality competition. Fraumann is on the lighter side, but it looks like he can carry plenty of weight. I would expect him to easily play north of 300 pounds by the time he’s ready to see the field.” — EJ Holland
