Michigan football commits are in the middle of this season’s playoffs, and a number of the Wolverines’ 18 2022 commitments were in action over the weekend.

Here is a quick look at how those future Wolverines performed:

QB Jayden Denegal, Apple Valley (Calif.) High

The Skinny: Apple Valley defeated Eastvale (Calif.) Roosevelt, 35-28, in the semifinal round of the California state playoffs. Denegal was out for a fifth straight week with an ankle injury.

RB CJ Stokes, Columbia (S.C.) Hammond

The Skinny: Stokes rushed for 62 yards and a touchdown in Hammond’s 45-18 win over Darlington (S.C.) Trinity Collegiate in the South Carolina state finals. Stokes finished the year with more than 1,000 yards for the third consecutive season and led Hammond to its fifth straight championship.

TE Marlin Klein, Rabun Gap (Ga.) Nacoochee

The Skinny: Klein recorded four receptions for 90 yards and a touchdown in a 14-9 loss to Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day in the second round of the North Carolina state playoffs.

OL Connor Jones, Monument (Colo.) Palmer Ridge

The Skinny: Jones and Palmer Ridge fell to Erie (Colo.) High, 28-18, in the third round of the Colorado state playoffs. Palmer Ridge finished the year with a 10-2 record.

OL Alessandro Lorenzetti, Windsor (Conn.) Loomis Chaffe

The Skinny: Loomis Chaffe took down Milton (Mass.) Academy, 21-3, in the NEPSAC Bowl. Lorenzetti missed the contest with a shoulder injury. Loomis Chaffe finished the year with a 9-1 record.

The Skinny: Grant and Merrillville fell to Westfield (Ind.) High, 48-19, in the Indiana state semifinals. No stats were available from the contest. Merrillville finished with a 12-1 record.
