Michigan has scored a big win on the recruiting.

Four-star Frisco (Texas) Lone Star defensive back Jordan Deck has flipped his commitment from Baylor to Michigan.

“They have a great culture,” Deck said. “Life after football is fantastic. I’m going to be successful off the field. They’ll take care of me. They have a bunch of like-minded people. That’s why they are in the top group for me.”

Michigan was trending as the team to beat for Deck going into the summer. However, Baylor received his final visit and briefly convinced Deck to stay closer to home.

U-M secondary coach LaMar Morgan never stopped pushing for Deck. He kept in constant contact with the Lone Star State native following his verbal pledge to the Bears and was eventually able to win him over.

At 6-foot-3, 180 pounds, Deck is ranked as the No. 29 safety and No. 339 overall prospect in the country, per the Rivals Industry Ranking. He is ranked as the No. 39 overall recruit in the state of Texas.

Michigan now has 22 commits in its 2026 recruiting class — Deck, five-star Washington (D.C.)
