Newsstand: Michigan freshman Patrick Liburd reveals rarely used jersey number

Tweets Of The Day
Michigan freshman guard Patrick Liburd has arrived in Ann Arbor. He got to campus June 12, according to what he told The Wolverine of his plans, technically on his official visit, and he will join the team as it convenes today (Monday, June 16) at the beginning of summer workouts. He’s moved in and ready for his freshman season.
Liburd shared on social media a picture of his locker, which indicates that he will wear No. 0 at Michigan. If that digit holds, he will become the seventh Michigan player to wear No. 0, joining Leon Jones, Zack Novak, Brent Hibbits, David DeJulius, Adrien Nunez and Dug McDaniel.
Here’s more on Liburd from an interview last month:
The 6-foot-6, 180-pounder originally signed with Coastal Carolina but requested out of his national letter of intent May 7, soon after his primary recruiter — assistant Zack Freesman — was hired at Florida Tech.
Coastal Carolina, Princeton, Cornell, Murray State and Brown were the schools recruiting him the hardest throughout the majority of the process, but high-major offers came in May, and Liburd wound up picking Michigan over Florida State.
“It was definitely a tough choice, because of the opportunity FSU was offering me, because of the role I would’ve had and the coaching staff is amazing,” Liburd told TheWolverine.com.
Michigan assistant coach Kyle Church led the way in the Wolverines’ pursuit of Liburd.
“It was really easy,” Liburd said of connecting with Michigan in a short period of time. “Coach Church was the one who initially contacted me. He’s a really cool guy, really easy to talk to. He did a great job with everything with the application, with talking to me and my family. He did a really good job of making a connection early.”

Quote Of The Day
I really liked it. I had fun with the players. I got to see more of the campus and what campus life is like. I got to see where I would be staying. I also got to see more of the defensive scheme. It was great.”
