Tuesday morning, TheWolverine.com’s Chris Balas reported that Michigan and Jim Harbaugh will likely soon agree on a contract extension after all. That came just days after the Wall Street Journal released a report that U-M had rescinded a contract offer. Harbaugh refuted that claim at his Monday press conference, and there’s more confidence now that Harbaugh will get his extension that will make him the highest-paid coach in the Big Ten. The Michigan program is currently under NCAA investigation for alleged illegal off-campus, advance scouting of opponents.

Former Michigan offensive lineman Taylor Lewan reacted to the news (NSFW):

Michigan analyst Connor Stalions, who’s been suspended with pay, is at the center of the investigation. He allegedly sent ‘scouts’ to games of future opponents in the same season, and may have attended some himself. It’s in question whether or not he was in attendance on the CMU sideline for its game against Michigan State Sept. 1.

Former Michigan wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones has been traded from the Cleveland Browns to his hometown Detroit Lions. He joins former U-M standouts Graham Glasgow and Aidan Hutchinson (a former teammate of Peoples Jones’) with the organization.

Michigan senior running back Blake Corum has signed an NIL deal with The Detroit Garage. On3’s Pete Nakos has more:

With locations throughout the greater Detroit area, the shop focuses on general automotive repair. Corum himself is a fan of cars, touting a sponsorship with Burt Watson Auto Group. He also had his prized Camo-wrapped Chevrolet Camaro stolen last January.

In a new ad released Tuesday for The Detroit Garage, the Michigan running back is shown driving a truck.

“I give my car the same level of care as give my body,” he said in the commercial. “That’s why I trust the team at the Detroit Garage for my tire and maintenance needs.”

The full terms of the agreement were not released. Through the deal, he’ll promote the brand on his social media platforms. The Detroit-based company can share marketing ads featuring Corum, which is a major win to have a star Michigan player promoting the garage.
