Ohio State sophomore wide receiver Jeremiah Smith made a bold statement about Michigan, which has beaten his Buckeyes with numbing repetition in recent years. In an interview with The Athletic, he guaranteed a victory over the Maize and Blue despite Ohio State not having beaten its hated rival since 2019.

“I didn’t want to go to Ohio State and lose to that team up north,” Smith said. “I just hate them. Just something about them. For the next two years, I promise you, I will not lose to them. I can’t lose to them in the next two years.”

Michigan sophomore forward Morez Johnson Jr. was ejected from Team USA’s 129-70 blowout victory over Cameroon in the FIBA U19 World Cup in Switzerland. The 6-foot-9 big man’s ejection came by way of a technical foul at the 8:24 mark in the third quarter.

Johnson posted 3 points, 5 rebounds and a block in 9 minutes, battling foul trouble most of the game.

Team USA finished the Group D phase with a 3-0 record and has advanced to the round of 16 as one of the top four seeds.

New Zealand is moving on to the next round, as well, finishing 2-1 in Group A pool play. Redshirt freshman forward Oscar Goodman recorded 7 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists in a 103-97 loss to Serbia Tuesday.

Four-star EDGE Julian Walker committed to Michigan Tuesday and released the following post on social media: “I WANT TO THANK GOD FIRST, FOR BLESSING ME WITH A SKILLSET TO PLAY THE GAME I LOVE. SECONDLY, I APPRECIATE EVERYONE WHO HAS STOOD BY ME UP UNTIL THIS DECISION. THIS WAS NOT AN EASY CHOICE, BUT IM 💯% CONFIDENT & GRATEFUL FOR THE SUPPORT OF MY FAMILY & MICHIGAN 〽️ – GO BLUE”
