Newsstand: Michigan football transfer announces new destination

Former Michigan football tight end Louis Hansen transferred out of the program earlier this month and has found his new destination. The sophomore pass catcher, who has at least 3 years of eligibility remaining, will be heading to UConn in the next chapter of his college career.
Hansen, a Dover, Massachusetts native, was a 4-star recruit and No. 375 player in the country in the 2021 recruiting class, according to the On3 Consensus. He appeared in 3 career games at Michigan against Northern Illinois in 2021 ad Hawaii and UConn in 2022. He did not record a statistic during his time in Ann Arbor. Hansen was the team’s Scout Team Offensive Player of the Week last season for helping the team prepare for a 33-7 win over Northwestern.
Michigan’s tight end room was loaded over the last two seasons with All and Luke Schoonmaker emerging as targets. This year, All’s production was replaced by Schoonmaker and emerging freshman Colston Loveland, along with sophomore walk-on Max Bredeson and graduates Joel Honigford and Carter Selzer.

Michigan quote of the day
“Like I said, after the Big Ten Championship game and Coach Harbaugh, he said it first, I thrive in the big games. I come alive in the big games. That’s what I’m here for. I’m here to play in the big games. I’m blessed by God to be able to play in the big games and do my thing on the big stage and to be able to give Him the glory after the game and before the game.”
