The Michigan Wolverines grabbed a 24-10 win over the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday in Ann Arbor and have moved up in this week’s AP Poll. U-M now stands as the No. 15 team in the country heading into next weekend’s game against USC in Los Angeles, up five spots from last week.

The Wolverines are one of five Big Ten teams ranked this week, along with Ohio State at No. 1 followed by Oregon (No. 3), Indiana (No. 7) and Illinois (No. 17). Penn State is no longer ranked after losing to previously-winless UCLA on Saturday.

The Wolverines play only one of those teams this year, with the Buckeyes coming to town on Thanksgiving weekend for the regular season finale.

The Badgers scored on the first drive of the game on Saturday, but from there, Michigan made the big adjustment to secure the win.

“It was all about tackling,” head coach Sherrone Moore said after the game. “Wink did, first of all, shout out to Wink Martindale, the defensive staff, the players. After that first drive, we looked at it. It was tackling. It wasn’t the calls. It was tackling. It was missing tackles.

“And after that, I think it was eight punts and an interception. And then a field goal at the end of the game. So pretty good. That’s what it came down to. And something we worked on all. We worked on it during opportunity week. We worked on it this past week, and you can see the emphasis of that, with tackling, that helped us be successful on defense.”

Here is the full poll released on Sunday afternoon following the Week 6 slate of games. Each week’s AP Poll will be released on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET for the rest of the season.
