Michigan has moved up in the 2022 On3 Consensus national team recruiting rankings after landing four-star defensive back Zeke Berry on Friday.

Berry committed to Michigan over fellow finalists Oregon, UCLA and USC.

Michigan safeties coach Ron Bellamy led the way with Berry, and the Wolverines were able to seal the deal following his official visit for The Game last weekend.

With Berry in the fold, Michigan jumped from No. 16 to No. 15 overall, leapfrogging SEC program Kentucky. The Wolverines now have a total score of 89.894, placing them just behind No. 14 Missouri, which has a score of 90.008.

Michigan is still in play for prospects like five-star offensive tackles Josh Conerly and Kiyaunta Goodwin, four-star Notre Dame wide receiver commit Amorion Walker, four-star Clemson safety commit Keon Sabb and On300 defensive tackle Deone Walker, so there is room for the Wolverines to keep climbing.

The 20th member of Michigan’s 2022 recruiting class, Berry joins five-star defensive back Will Johnson, four-star wide receiver Tyler Morris, four-star linebacker Jimmy Rolder, four-star edge rushers Ethan Burke and Kevonte Henry, four-star quarterback Jayden Denegal, four-star tight ends Marlin Klein and Colston Loveland, four-star defensive tackle Kenneth Grant, four-star defensive back Kody Jones, three-star defensive backs Myles Pollard and Damani Dent, three-star defensive tackle Mason Graham, three-star linebackers Aaron Alexander, Deuce Spurlock and Micah Pollard, three-star running back CJ Stokes and three-star offensive linemen Connor Jones and Alessandro Lorenzetti.

Michigan is looking to take around 24 prospects this cycle.

Michigan is the third highest ranked Big Ten school, trailing No. 4 Ohio State and No. 6 Penn State.
