Rivals released a new rankings update Monday afternoon, naming Michigan commit Carter Meadows the No. 1 edge rusher in the country and moving up five-star running back Savion Hiter to No. 8 in the class.

Following all of the movement from the Wolverines’ 23 senior commits, the program remains ranked tenth in the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Michigan holds the No. 4 class in the Big Ten, trailing only USC, Oregon and Ohio State. The Buckeyes sit one spot ahead of the Wolverines in the national rankings at No. 9. With fewer than three months until signing day, U-M has a class score of 91.598. That trails Ohio State by 0.1.

If that score stands, it would be a 0.99 drop from the 2025 cycle when Michigan signed the No. 6 class in the country that ranked third in the Big Ten.

The Wolverines head into the home stretch of the cycle with 14 commits ranked with four or five stars. That’s a blue-chip ratio of 61 percent. Michigan does not hold an in-state pledge and, if that remains true, that would be the first cycle without a local signee since at least 2001. The average distance from Ann Arbor for a U-M commit is 895.4 miles.

Moving forward, Michigan will continue to pursue an elite cornerback flip, a third offensive line pledge and at least one more linebacker.

Michigan now has 23 commits in its 2026 recruiting class — Hiter, five-star Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga EDGE Carter Meadows, Top 100 Honolulu (Hawaii) Kamehameha offensive tackle Malakai Lee, Top 100 St. Louis (Mo.) DeSmet defensive lineman Titan Davis, Top 100 Billings (Mont.)
