Michigan sophomore forward Morez Johnson Jr. dropped a FIBA career-best 19 points on 8-of-9 shooting from the field in a 140-67 victory over Jordan. He added 5 boards, 2 steals and a block in 15 minutes of action. The Americans have advanced to the quarterfinals.

The quarterfinals are set for the FIBA U19 World Cup, and two Michigan players — Johnson and redshirt freshman forward Oscar Goodman — could face off in the semis if both teams win Friday.

2026 Opa Locka (Fla.) Northwestern five-star wide receiver Calvin Russell has set his commitment date for July 5 and will pick between Michigan, Syracuse, Oregon and Florida State.

The video of Michigan walking out before beating Ohio State 13-10 in 2024 never gets old.

Quote Of The Day

“His length and speed (are big strengths). He has big hands. He’s a competitor. He’s cool in the big moment. He gives teams problems on both sides of the ball. You don’t want to be 1-on-1 with him when the ball is in the air on offense or defense. He’s even helped us in the punting game. He averaged 40-plus yards punting this year.

“As a 6-foot-2, 175 pound guy, his frame is going to increase as he gets older. He’s a strong guy for his size. I’m excited about his intangibles. His length, speed and ball skills are all top tier qualities. I think that’s going to put him ahead of some of the other guys going to college.”
