Michigan has gone one-and-done in each of the last two Big Ten Tournaments, falling to Indiana in 2022 and Rutgers in 2023. Those results came after a 14-event streak of winning at least one game. Penn State, meanwhile, is coming off a run to the Big Ten Tournament championship last season, which ended with a 67-65 loss to Purdue. The Nittany Lions have won at least one contest in each of the last three events.
The No. 14 seed is 4-9 throughout history, since the Big Ten expanded to 14 teams in 2014-15. Three of those wins came by Ohio State last season, with the Buckeyes advancing to the semifinals. The No. 11 seed, meanwhile, is 12-25. Only once has an 11 seed made it to the final.
Michigan is tied third in the league with three Big Ten Tournament championships, having won in 1998, 2017 and 2018.
