Thursday also marked 100 days until Michigan football kicks off its 2023 season. The excitement is building for Wolverines everywhere — though these three hosts want to enjoy summer in the meantime.
“Here’s the thing — in speaking to the guys that we’ve spoken to on the road and following them around in the spring in New York, Cleveland and Canton, and talking to the coaches and players for the football preview, this is as special as it gets,” Balas said. “I’ve been doing this a long time, as you guys know, but it really has that feeling of, OK, they’ve got the staff in place, they’ve got the coach in place, they’ve got the players in place — and the culture is back to where this is going to be a really, really special team, in my opinion. The program is in a great place, so don’t take it for granted, because that can change overnight, as we’ve seen at some programs.”
“It’s like the Andy Bernard quote, ‘I wish there was a way to know you’re in the good old days before you’ve actually left them,'” Sayfie chimed in. “With this being a few years now [of Michigan’s run], you can kind of feel that. Take advantage and cherish it if you’re a Michigan fan out there.”
“You see that ‘100 days until kickoff’ graphic on all of our socials today, and it’s sort of like, I don’t want to say it’s a wake-up call, because we know the season is getting closer, but 100 days — that’s the magic number to where we’re working on our football preview [preorder now for free shipping!], we’re starting to see the Athlon Sports preview,” Broome said. “… Everything that we’re going to see now and over the next couple months is getting ready for the season. The dog days of the offseason are, I don’t want to say over, but it shifts into now the anticipation to what this season could be.”
