Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy launched the J.J. For The Kids Foundation shortly after NIL legislation was passed in 2021. He announced Friday night that he’s distributed over $30,000 to children’s hospitals and other programs in need. Details are in his tweet below.

University of Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel sent a letter to the U-M community expressing his support for four NIL collectives, the most notable being the Champions Circle. The collective was created by Valiant Management and a group of boosters.

Valiant has been the market-leading organization servicing Michigan athletes with NIL opportunities. A Valiant representative revealed to TheWolverine.com that it has now surpassed $4 million in deals for Wolverine student-athletes.

Valiant has now launched a “support” page on its website, allowing Michigan supporters to pledge money toward Wolverine athletes. Fans can select which sport they would like their contribution to go to.

“Together we can provide broad support across all varsity athletic teams at the University of Michigan,” the Valiant website reads. “All proceeds received by us from your contributions will go to directly to fund NIL activities for University of Michigan student-athletes.”

Michigan head football coach Jim Harbaugh has endorsed Valiant.

“Valiant Management Group embodies the core values of our program by providing NIL opportunities for our student athletes that are transformational in nature and not simply transactional,” Harbaugh said, as shown on the Valiant site. “They provide valuable experience to our players to build and monetize their own brand while simultaneously stressing the importance of utilizing NIL opportunities for good. I consider them to be a trusted agent and encourage our Michigan Family to support them in their NIL efforts.”

Michigan is getting its jerseys set for the Fiesta Bowl against TCU.

Michigan Wolverines football scored seven commitments from players in the transfer portal after the Dec. 5 open, and the program made their additions official Friday afternoon.

Head coach Jim Harbaugh and Co. landed tight end AJ Barner (Indiana), quarterback Jack Tuttle (Indiana), offensive tackle LaDarius Henderson (Arizona State), linebacker Ernest Hausmann (Nebraska), offensive tackle Myles Hinton (Stanford), EDGE Josaiah Stewart (Coastal Carolina) and offensive center Drake Nugent (Nebraska).

U-M only stated that the players will enroll at the school ahead of the 2023 season, but some or all will be in Ann Arbor for the second semester of this academic year. Both Henderson and Hausmann have told TheWolverine.com that they will arrive for classes and football activities in January.

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh led the Wolverines to victory over Nebraska in the 1986 Fiesta Bowl.

Quote Of The Day

”People follow money. The bigger fanbases, the bigger donors, that’s always going to play a big part, because athletes are now able to dramatically change their lives. I also see it changing college athletics because it’s forced the athletes to grow up quicker. Coming from the influencer marketing world, these athletes are indeed, influencers, and have immediately became a brand straight out of high school. That’s something 4EVR Sports wants to help athletes understand and also educate and assist their families when growing that player’s platform. Not a lot of players actually realize their full potential.”

4EVR Sports marketing director, Ben Dietrich, whose agency has signed a non-exclusive contract with incoming Michigan wide receiver Semaj Morgan
