Michigan is a three-touchdown favorite over Purdue, and the Wolverines should win in blowout fashion if everything goes according to plan. There isn’t a ton of excitement and buzz surrounding this one, but it’s still important on the path to keeping CFP hopes alive.
“Michigan is favored by three scores,” Balas said. “What’s the spread now, 21.5 or something like that? And I think part of that is people are not sold on the Michigan offense. The Michigan defense is playing better, and then of course you can always get the garbage time touchdown in there like Michigan State did.

“But this is one of those games where, OK, you got past the meat of the schedule as it pertains to the scary games — the road games, the three that we were always talking about and said they have to win two of those. Michigan State could be tricky if they were any good, but they sucked. So, you just hold your breath and get through that week, and now it’s Purdue, at Northwestern, where it’s going to be a to of Michigan fans at Wrigley Field, and then at Maryland, where it will also be a ton of Michigan fans. And people are looking that as a tricky trap game because it’s before Ohio State, but that’s not a very good team, either.
“These are three games you definitely should win. Michigan is better in every facet against Purdue. We can talk about it and analyze it, but that’s really what it comes down to, fellas. This is a game that Michigan has no business losing and will not lose on Saturday.”
