ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Michigan Wolverines football head coach Sherrone Moore met with the media Monday morning following a 31-20 win over Michigan State and ahead of this weekend’s clash with Purdue. Watch video of Moore’s session with reporters in the player at the top of the screen.

Key quotes from Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore

On Michigan safety Rod Moore’s status: “Just working through the knee, making sure it’s 100 percent. Does some things in practice, does some movement stuff, but it’s not all the way there. I think that one week he had a lot of reps, put some work on it. We’ll just see how he’s going this week.”

On Michigan linebacker Cole Sullivan: “We’ll get some more information as we go through the week.”

On the differences between Justice Haynes and Jordan Marshall, and if the duo is similar to Hassan Haskins and Blake Corum bfor Michigan in 2021: “Yeah, I mean, a little bit. I think both of them have the ability, as we’ve seen, to have the explosive play ability. I think both of them could run you over, make you miss, do that. But Justice, we’ve just seen more of the 50-yard runs, 60-yard runs, where Jordan has only had a couple of them. Jordan is really that thumper, that wear you down back that moves the pile, where Justice isn’t that as much. But they both have that ability. The biggest difference is probably that Jordan is more of that thumper guy, whereas Justice is the one cut, he can bounce it outside and get that touchdown or he can one cut and go for 50. But both of them, obviously, super successful with what they’ve been doing.”

On how much influence he has on the play calling for the Michigan offense during games: “I help out, but Chip’s calling the plays. The offensive staff has done an unbelievable job. I thought Coach Newsome really stepped up this week in the game planning and put together some plays and things that we executed at a high level in the game. No, I’m just there to help out and help with things that I see, but yeah, I’m not calling the plays.”
