Michigan Wolverines football will face Oklahoma for just the second time in history Saturday night in Norman. The Wolverines announced Friday afternoon they’ll do so wearing their white jerseys with maize pants and white accessories.

Here’s a look at what Michigan will wear:

This is Michigan’s first road game of the year, after beating New Mexico 34-17 in Ann Arbor to open the season. The last time the Wolverines went on the road, they wore their all-white combination in a 13-10 win over Ohio State.

U-M started switching up the pant color choice much more so in 2021, debuting the blue pants on the road in a win at Wisconsin that season. Here’s what Michigan has worn in every road game since 2021:

Saturday night’s clash is the 42nd occurrence of Michigan facing an SEC opponent, with the Wolverines holding a 27-13-1 record. The Wolverines have also had success recently, beating Alabama twice last calendar year — 27-20 in overtime of the College Football Playoff semifinal at the Rose Bowl Jan. 1 and 19-13 at the ReliaQuest Bowl Dec. 31. The Wolverines also lost to Texas, 31-12, at The Big House last September.

Michigan is 4-6 in its last 10 meetings versus the SEC, winning two out of the last three after a four-game skid. The Wolverines were dominated in three of those losses, falling to Florida 41-15, Alabama 35-16 and Georgia 34-11 in bowl games.

Michigan and Oklahoma are two blue-blood programs. The Wolverines have 1,013 wins, the most by a football program at any level. Oklahoma, meanwhile, checks in sixth in college football with 951 victories after last week’s 35-3 win over Illinois State.

While the Wolverines and Sooners have been two of the most dominant teams in the sport, they’ve played each other just once, in the Jan. 1, 1976, Orange Bowl, a 14-6 Oklahoma win. The Sooners clinched their second-straight national championship with the victory over Michigan.
