Quotes from Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore

Here are some notable quotes from Moore at his press conference:

• Moore on Michigan freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood and new offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey: “Overall, the room is awesome. I love those guys in the room as young men, first of all. I did a study about snaps in college football, and he leads the team with 2,029 in college football. He’s a guy that’s experienced it at a high level. Bringing in Chip has been awesome. From the knowledge standpoint and the things that he’s gonna and has given our offense has been outstanding. And he’s been a head coach — to lean on someone who’s been in my position before is awesome.”

• Moore on Michigan wide receivers “Donaven McCulley, Andrew Marsh, Jamar Browder and Jacob Washington in recruitment. But the retention of guys like Fred Moore, Semaj Morgan, I’Marion Stewart, Channning Goodwin, Peyton O’Leary, Kendrick Bell. They’ve done a good job of changing the mentality of that room.”

• Moore on freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood: “I think he’s grown every single day since he’s been on campus. He’s been with us since December. Does everything he can to be the best teammate, student and football player he can be.”

• Moore, asked about lessons he learned from last season with the Michigan quarterbacks: “Lessons is the right word. It’s not losses but lessons. … Really it’s just staying in the moment. You can’t worry about yesterday and tomorrow’s not owed to you. We’re focusing on what we can do now, not just the quarterback room but everyone. … We’ve done a good job of staying together, standing arm in arm. As a team, I think we’re gonna be better this year.”

• Moore on the ‘team over me’ motto for Michigan in 2025: “Team over me is our theme. Everything we’ve done is for our team. In the world we live in now, it’s very easy to look at and think about yourself and not the team. Bo said it the best — ‘the team, the team, the team.’ We’ve really exemplified that with everything we’ve done this offseason.”
