Newsstand: Video from Michigan football summer workouts

Tweets Of The Day
Michigan football’s summer training cycle began last week, with the Wolverines hitting the ground running ahead of fall camp, which will begin in either late July or early August (TBA).
“Freshman are doing their baseline evaluations, where we test everything you can think of,” head coach Sherrone Moore said at a Wayne State satellite camp last Thursday (May 30). “The older guys have started working out yesterday, and they’re getting after it. I was there this morning — they’re already … there’s not much I have to say. It’s just me watching, observing and smiling and just watching them push each other and the hard work already getting done. That’s where they’re at. They’re working out right now. They’re doing football stuff — lifting, they’ll meet on their own and do different things. So they’re in the process of getting better right now.”
Here’s a video from Michigan’s workouts.
Howard Eisley Jr., the son of former Michigan assistant coach Howard Eisley (2019-24), has committed to the Wolverines as a preferred walk on. The elder Eisley was not retained on new head coach Dusty May’s staff.
Top 100 wide receiver recruit Derek Meadows — a Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman product — “loved everything” about his Michigan visit.
“Michigan definitely stands high on my list,” Meadows told The Wolverine. “They set the bar high and did an amazing job on the OV.”

Quote Of The Day
“He was really good. His message was about Michigan still being Michigan. It’s going to keep being Michigan now that he’s replaced Jim Harbaugh. He sees Shekai as a Michigan type of kid. From the moment he saw his tape, he was like ‘woah, where is that guy coming from?’ Seeing him for the first time, he was impressed with him physically. Shekai recalled the game against Penn State, where he wore his emotions on his sleeve with a lot of genuineness. You can also see why he’s a player’s coach and why guys connect with him. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a guy Shekai wants to play for. He’s really relatable. He really made us comfortable in his office. You felt the genuineness.”
— Emmanuel Cazeau-Wagnac, the mentor of Chattanooga (Tenn.) Baylor School three-star running back Shekai Mills-Knight, on Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore
