Michigan runs out the clock and moves to 9-2

Michigan was able to use up the rest of the game clock once it got the ball back, walking off the field with a fifth-straight win and setting up an epic showdown in The Game next weekend.

Maryland scores garbage-time touchdown

Maryland backup quarterback Khristian Martin completed a pass up the middle to Jalil Farooq for a 29-yard touchdown. Michigan’s lead is cut to 45-20 with 5:55 to go.

Michigan takes 45-13 lead

Michigan emptied the bench, inserting Jadyn Davis in at quarterback and a bevy of other backups on offense. The Wolverines went 14 yards in 7 plays, and Dominic Zvada drilled a 46-yard field goal. U-M leads 45-13 at the 7:20 mark in the fourth quarter.

Jasper Parker scores second career touchdown

Michigan pours it on. After the fourth-down stop, the Wolverines scored on a six-play, 37-yard drive. Jasper Parker rushed 6 yards around left end and dove for the pylon for the score. Michigan leads 42-13 with 13:19 to go in the fourth.

Michigan forces turnover on downs

Maryland had a 9-play drive that went virtually nowhere, spanning only 12 yards after Malik Washington was dropped for a huge sack by Derrick Moore on fourth down. The Wolverines will take over on the Maryland 37-yard line with 56 seconds to go in the third quarter.

Maryland marched 64 yards in 12 plays and settled for a 29-yard field goal by Sean O’Haire. He made it to cut the Michigan lead to 28-13 with 7:34 to go in the third quarter.

Michigan got the ball coming out of halftime and punched in a touchdown right away, after Maryland’s kick went out of bounds. Bryson Kuzdzal rushed 19 yards for a score over the right side, putting the Wolverines up 28-10 with 11:35 remaining.

According to Michigan radio, fullback / tight end Max Bredeson will miss the remainder of the game. He went out with an injury in the first half.

Dominic Zvada misses field goal

Dominic Zvada missed his seventh field goal of the season, pushing a 38-yarder wide right. The Wolverines still lead 21-10 with 1:53 to go in the second quarter, plenty of time for Maryland. The Terrapins have two timeouts left.

Maryland gets a field goal

Maryland drove down 59 yards in 12 plays, spanning 5:25, ending up with a 34-yard field goal. Maryland got to fourth-and-11 after a Jaishawn Barham sack on third-and-4. The Wolverines lead 21-10 with 7:03 to go in the first half.

Michigan cashes in with touchdown

Michigan takes a 21-7 lead, cashing in after the interception by Mason Curtis. Donaven McCulley caught a screen pass on third down and took it 22 yards to pay dirt, with great blocking downfield. Bryce Underwood nearly threw an interception on the first play of the drive, but the Maryland defensive back dropped it. Eleven plays later, the Wolverines scored a 2-yard touchdown by Bryson Kuzdzal on first and goal. The Wolverines lead 14-7 with 14:17 remaining in the second quarter.

Maryland tried a surprise onside kick that didn’t fool Michigan. Chase Taylor recovered it, and the Wolverines began the drive on the Maryland 47-yard line. Facing third-and-8 from the Maryland 12-yard line, the Wolverines drew Maryland offsides and used a free play to hit Andrew Marsh on a fade route for the score. Michigan and Maryland are tied up at 7-7 with 7:05 remaining.
