Michigan has scored for a second-straight drive, this time via a big play. The Wolverines went deep for Donaven McCulley, who came down with a jump ball against a defender’s back for a 44-yard gain. Michigan ended up settling for a 35-yard field goal to cut into the lead. Oklahoma holds a 21-13 advantage with 1:24 left in the third quarter.

Michigan didn’t fully capitalize off of the muffed punt, going three-and-out. Dominic Zvada did get some points on the board, though, drilling a 42-yard field goal. Michigan trails 21-10 with 6:33 to go in the third quarter.

Hudson Hollenbeck boomed a punt, which was muffed by Isaiah Sategna III and recovered by linebacker Cole Sullivan. Michigan takes over at the Oklahoma 31-yard line.

John Mateer scores again

Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer ran for a 10-yard touchdown, after the Sooners took over on their own 49-yard line following a short Michigan punt. The drive took up 1:55 of clock, spanning five plays.
Michigan had a near-interception by Jyaire Hill, and a near sack from Brandyn Hillman before Mateer scrambled and found wideout Isaiah Sategna III for a 36-yard gain down the sideline, to the 14-yard line.
There’s 10:12 on the third quarter clock, and Oklahoma holds a 21-7 lead.

Michigan CB Zeke Berry assisted off the field

Michigan cornerback Zeke Berry went down with an injury at the 10:34 mark in the third quarter, grabbing his lower right leg. U-M radio sideline reporter Jason Avant reported that it’s his right ankle. Freshman Jayden Sanders replaced Berry.

Justice Haynes dashes for long touchdown

Michigan picked up 3rd and 1 with Justice Haynes between the tackles, but starting left guard Giovanni El-Hadi is injured. He’s being helped off and walking gingerly off the field. He’s going straight to the medical tent.

Michigan safety Brandyn Hillman went down and was receiving medical attention. He was laying on his back. He eventually got up and jogged back to the Wolverine sideline on his own power.

Michigan hit on a nice 19-yard gain for Semaj Morgan, but the Wolverines didn’t convert on 3rd and 4, throwing a swing pass to Justice Haynes, and Hudson Hollenbeck punted it away on fourth down. Michigan pinned Oklahoma on its own 6-yard line with 6:33 to go in the first quarter.

Oklahoma hit on two big passing plays on its first drive, taking advantage of a free play with Michigan jumping offsides on the second one. The Sooners ran a pop pass sweep to wide receiver Deion Burks, technically a passing score from quarterback John Mateer, who went 5-of-7 for 62 yards on the opening possession. Oklahoma leads 7-0 with 10 minutes remaining in the first quarter.
