Michigan hockey beat Robert Morris, 10-2, Friday night at Yost Ice Arena, to start the season 6-0 for the first time since 1979. The Wolverines have allowed the fewest goals in the first six games since 1926.

From MGoBlue.com:

Six Wolverines had three-point games, including Jayden Perron and Josh Eernisse who had two goals and an assist each. A major highlight of the evening was captain T.J. Hughes scoring his 50th career point.

Freshman goaltender Jack Ivankovic was stout in net for the Wolverines, making 30 saves on 32 shots to earn the win and improve his record to 6-0.

Michigan is back to work with a game against Washington Saturday.

MGoBlueTV’s Ed Kengerski sets the stage for the Wolverines’ vs. the Huskies.

Michigan will wear blue jerseys with maize pants and blue accessories Saturday against Washington.

Former U-M cornerback DJ Turner had a sick interception Thursday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Quote Of The Day

“I was optimistic that we would simply look around and realize we’re playing a big, big strong team and we were going to set the tone early. And the opposite happened, where they threw their first four baskets, if I remember correctly, were on the offensive glass and that sets a different tone than you want and our vets have to do a better job of establishing that mindset early that we’re going to get hits, we’re going to find the ball and then get out in the open floor.”
