Newsstand: Michigan women's basketball to honor jerseys of three greats

Michigan women’s basketball will lift the jerseys of Diane Dietz (No. 21, 1979-82), Katelynn Flaherty Yates (No. 3, 2015-18) and Naz Hillmon (No. 00, 2019-22) into the rafters.

Dietz will be recognized when Michigan hosts Wisconsin on Jan. 11, with Flaherty’s honoring set for Jan. 25 against USC and Hillmon’s ceremony set for Feb. 15 against Michigan State.

Official kickoff time is 7:10 p.m. ET for Michigan’s game against Purdue. Jeff Levering, Jake Butt and Brooklyn Fletcher will be on the call for Big Ten Network.

Four former Michigan players took the floor in the Orlando Magic and Detroit Pistons game last night, a 135-116 Pistons win. Three of them — Caris LeVert and Duncan Robinson for Detroit and Franz Wagner for Orlando — were out there at the same time at points. Jett Howard logged 4 minutes for the Magic.

Franz Wagner was the most impressive of the four, posting 22 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists in 33 minutes of the loss.

After going 4-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles at the RTC Collegiate Invite, Gabriella Lindgren was named both the Big Ten Player and Freshman of the Week.

Camden Law was named the Big Ten Track and Field and Cross Country Athlete of the Week.
