Newsstand: Jordan Young flip keeps Michigan in top-10 of 2025 rankings

The Michigan Wolverines are a few days out from inking the majority of their 2025 football recruiting class, which got a big boost on Sunday with a commitment from top-100 safety Jordan Young, who flipped from Clemson after pledging earlier this month.
Young is On3’s No. 99 overall prospect and 8th-ranked safety in the class. The On3 Industry Ranking – which weighs the ranking of each of the four major recruiting services – has him as a four-star prospect and the No. 172 player in the nation.
Young’s commitment brought Michigan to 20 in the 2025 cycle with room for more. As of Sunday night, the recruiting class ranks 8th in the country behind only Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, Texas, Auburn, LSU and Oregon.
The early signing period kicks off on Wednesday. Plenty of fireworks could be on the way, especially with the floodgates open following the commitment of Five-Star+ QB Bryce Underwood. With the momentum on the field and on the trail, things are picking up steam under Sherrone Moore.

Michigan quote of the day
“The Big Ten Conference has determined that the actions of both teams following the Michigan-Ohio State football game on Saturday, November 30, 2024, violated the Big Ten Sportsmanship Policy,” the release from the conference said. “Not only did the actions of both teams violate fundamental elements of sportsmanship such as respect and civility, the nature of the incident also jeopardized the safety of participants and bystanders.
“As a result of these violations, the Big Ten Conference has issued an institutional fine to both the University of Michigan and The Ohio State University in the amount of $100,000 each.
“The Big Ten Conference considers this matter concluded and will have no further comment.”
