Podcast: The latest on Michigan's coaching search and Sherrone Moore aftermath

Anthony Broomeby: Anthony Broome17 hours agoanthonytbroome

Michigan Wolverines football needs a head coach as the search moves into its first full week, and it is doing so up against the backdrop of cleaning up the mess Sherrone Moore left behind and the athletic department being investigated for its handling of the situation.

The Wolverine’s Anthony Broome, Chris Balas and Clayton Sayfie discuss where the carousel currently stands as Michigan’s search heats up.

”It’s funny because everybody’s saying that everybody’s hired coaches and stuff like that,” Balas said on the show. “I will say that Matt Campbell probably would’ve been a candidate for Michigan. But other than that, I don’t think Michigan was going to hire Pat Fitzgerald. They weren’t going to hire James Franklin, so guys like that, that were never gonna be on the list anyway. So overall t stinks. But there are some good candidates out there, strong candidates.

“We’ve talked about Kenny Dillingham. I don’t think Michigan moves on from Kalen DeBoer until maybe we see what happens Friday. … So I do think that Arizona State’s Dillingham, and I know you guys agree with me, would probably come, and I know for a fact that he’s on the list.

“Jedd Fish, it’s nice to have a safety net, and I think he’s that guy if they can’t get some of our other candidates, and Fisch is up there as a candidate. He has some Michigan ties. So there are some options here. The question right now is how long they’re going to have to wait, and how long will these guys remain options if you wait too long for some of your top candidates?”
