Rivals RPM: Michigan leads for these five recruits after big visit weekend
Michigan hosted several recruits for its game against Ohio State over the weekend. Here is a look at five visitors Michigan leads for, according to the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine.
QB Donald Tabron, Detroit (Mich.) Cass Tech (2028)
The most important recruit in the 2028 class is Tabron. Like Dante Moore and Bryce Underwood before him, Tabron has all the makings of a five-star quarterback. Tabron has elite arm strength, accuracy, pocket presence and all the intangibles you want at the position. Michigan is off to a strong start here and needs to do everything it can to keep him home. The Wolverines have the lead on the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 54.1 percent chance of landing him. However, others like Oregon, Miami and USC are involved as well, so expect this to be an ultra-competitive recruitment. Tabron is ranked as the No. 3 quarterback and No. 28 overall recruit nationally in the 2028 class.
WR Dakota Guerrant, Harper Woods (Mich.) High (2027)
Ranked as the No. 54 overall recruit nationally, Guerrant is a top overall priority for Michigan in the 2027 class. It’s no secret the Wolverines need more help in the wide receiver room, and Guerrant can certainly provide that. This trip marked Guerrant’s 16th reported visit to Michigan. The Wolverines hold the commanding lead on the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 76.5 percent chance of landing him. While Michigan is in a very strong sport early on, the Wolverines will need to fight off others like Miami, Ohio State and Oregon, which has been gaining some recent steam.
TE Anthony Cartwright, Detroit (Mich.) Country Day (2027)
Michigan is doing everything it can to make sure Cartwright stays home next cycle. The Wolverines are making him feel like a priority on the tight end board and have hosted him for more visits than any other schools. Michigan has the commanding lead on the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine with an 81.4 percent chance of landing him. Cartwright, the No. 19 tight end and No. 266 overall recruit nationally, is considering other programs like Ohio State, Oregon and USC. However, Michigan appears to have the inside track for the talented in-state prospect. This weekend marked his third trip to Ann Arbor of the fall.

EDGE Myles Smith, Farmington (Mich.) High (2027)
Smith was one of the biggest risers in the recent Rivals rankings release, going from a bit of an unknown prospect to the No. 50 overall recruit in the country for next cycle. Smith, now the No. 1 ranked recruit in the state of Michigan, made his second visit to Ann Arbor over the weekend. Michigan has the lead on the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 43.0 percent chance of landing him. Smith also holds offers from Ole Miss, Missouri, Indiana and others. His recruitment is just starting, but it’s safe to say Michigan is in a good position early on.
EDGE Jaxon Holly, Alpharetta (Ga.) High (2027)
A three-star prospect, Holly is the younger brother of Michigan EDGE Julius Holly, who signed with the Wolverines last cycle. Jaxon is a legitimate prospect in his own right and has an impressive offer sheet with multiple SEC offers from the likes of LSU, Ole Miss and Texas A&M. Jaxon has made several trips to Michigan, including over the weekend, and the Wolverines should have the inside track to land him, given the staff’s relationship with the Holly family. At 6-foot-2, 215 pounds, Holly is ranked as the No. 42 EDGE and No. 434 overall prospect nationally, per the Rivals Industry Ranking. Michigan has the lead on the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 95.5 percent chance of landing him.
