Michigan hosted a talented group of visitors for its 21-16 win over Purdue on Saturday night.

The Wolverines impressed a number of targets and now have the lead for these three recruits, per the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine.

RB Noah Roberts, Chandler (Ariz.) Basha (2027)

Michigan running backs coach Tony Alford has been a big upgrade on the recruiting trail. Alford landed the big fish this cycle in five-star ball carrier Savion Hiter and has the Wolverines in a strong position for some of the best running backs in the 2027 recruiting class, including Roberts. Ranked as the No. 5 running back and No. 78 overall recruit nationally, Roberts is a high end offensive weapon with verified track times. Michigan now has the lead on the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 19.0 percent chance of landing him. The Wolverines are just ahead of rival Ohio State, which is also making Roberts a top priority. Others like Notre Dame and Oklahoma are involved as well.

TE Anthony Cartwright, Detroit (Mich.) Country Day (2027)

Michigan is doing everything it can to make sure Cartwright stays home next cycle. The Wolverines are making him feel like a priority on the tight end board and have hosted him for more visits than any other schools. Michigan has the commanding lead on the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine with an 81.9 percent chance of landing him. Cartwright, the No. 12 tight end and No. 191 overall recruit nationally, is considering other programs like Ohio State, Oregon and USC. However, Michigan appears to have the inside track for the talented in-state prospect. This weekend marked his second trip to Ann Arbor of the fall. He was also in The Big House for the game against Wisconsin in October.

EDGE Myles Smith, Farmington (Mich.) High (2027)

Smith was one of the biggest risers in the recent Rivals rankings release, going from a bit of an unknown prospect to the No. 50 overall recruit in the country for next cycle. Smith, now the No. 1 ranked recruit in the state of Michigan, made his first visit to Ann Arbor over the weekend and earned an offer on the spot. Michigan defensive line coach Lou Esposito spent time with Smith during his stay and will lead this recruitment moving forward. Michigan has the lead on the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 28.3 percent chance of landing him. Smith also holds offers from Ole Miss, Missouri, Indiana and others. His recruitment is just starting, but it’s safe to say Michigan is in a good position early on.
