Top 100 in-state QB Donald Tabron II locks in next Michigan visit

Michigan will welcome one of its elite in-state recruiting targets back to Ann Arbor this weekend. Donald Tabron II, the No. 3 class of 2028 quarterback in the country, plans on attending the Wolverines’ showdown with Washington Saturday, Oct. 18.
The Top 100 signal-caller ranks No. 29 nationally in the Rivals Industry Ranking. He’s a 6-3, 175-pound sophomore out of Detroit (Mich.) Cass Tech. This will be his first trip to Michigan this fall. Tabron is the No. 2 class of 2028 prospect in the state and the program’s top priority target at quarterback.
Offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Chip Lindsey is his primary recruiter with assistant quarterbacks coach Josh Sinagoga also playing a role. Tabron remains in the early stages of his recruitment, but he’s enjoying the relationship-building process with the Wolverines and looks forward to visiting Michigan this fall.
“It’s definitely been good,” Tabron told The Wolverine Aug. 29. “I want to get up to a game in the near future, but I want to focus on the season…Michigan football is where it’s at. Bryce is going to be starting. I definitely want to go see Bryce play.”
Tabron trains with Michigan freshman phenom Bryce Underwood and has known him for a long time. The sophomore has visited 12 times, significantly more than any other school. During these game day visits, Tabron focuses on how the coaches interact with their players and also soak in the stadium atmosphere.

He visited Michigan for the spring game in April and returned in the summer to throw for Lindsey and go through the program’s passing academy camp. Tabron explained what he’s looking for from the Wolverines going into the season.
“Play that Michigan football, but [don’t] keep it limited,” Tabron said. “Bryce is a great player, and I want to see a better offense than last year. They played Michigan football, downhill, but I also want to see it spread out, to be able to play multiple ways during the game.”
Ohio State, Michigan State, Penn State, Texas A&M, Notre Dame Miami and USC have all hosted Tabron this fall.
Tabron is undefeated as a starter with Cass Tech at 14-0 and won a state title as a freshman. The sophomore is leading the state of Michigan’s No. 1 program and has the school out to an 8-0 start. Cass Tech ranks No. 29 nationally. He is one of the most coveted quarterback prospects in the country and attends school less than an hour away from Ann Arbor.
