On300 wide receiver Travis Johnson will announce his commitment Friday afternoon at noon ET, and Michigan fans can watch the announcement live on on The Wolverine’s YouTube channel. EJ Holland made the quick drive to the ceremony today and will have live updates from the event.

The receiver’s Recruiting Prediction Machine favors U-M going into this announcement as Holland and others have filed predictions in Michigan’s favor. Penn State, Georgia, South Carolina, Indiana, North Carolina and Virginia Tech are also in contention for the nation’s No. 137 overall prospect.

He officially visited the Wolverines June 13 and enjoyed the trip. Johnson caught up with EJ over the weekend at OT7 to preview the upcoming announcement.

“I’m very excited,” he said. “I’ve been waiting my whole life for this. I’ve been dreaming about it, and now, it’s a reality. I’m ready to make my decision. I actually already made it, so I’m just waiting for the date.”

Notable quotes from Johnson

“They need me to come in and make an immediate impact,” Johnson said last week. “I’m excited to see the offense under (freshman quarterback) Bryce Underwood and Chip Lindsey, the new offensive coordinator. They have a couple of more pieces at wide receiver from the portal, so I’m expecting them to pass the ball more.”

“Michigan is a winning program,” Johnson said last week. “They have a great academic program. They have great people. Coach (Sherrone) Moore and Coach (Ron) Bellamy are both great. I’ve always liked Michigan.”

“The visit was great,” Johnson said after his official visit. “They always treat me like a priority. This time, I got to spend more time with the guys, especially my Virginia guys. I feel like every visit we’ve been on at Michigan has felt like an official visit. It’s just great getting back every time.”

“Michigan definitely stands very high for me coming out of this visit,” Johnson said after his official visit. “They have the culture, the development and they win.”
