Man Crazy happy for the guys that’s what they’ve worked for. The media gave them a 2% chance of winning the championship and they took advantage of that. - 2023-02-04T182025.513

On3 updated its rankings for the 2024 recruiting class on Monday, and there was plenty of movement involving Michigan commits.

Four U-M pledges have an 89 grade from On3 — the highest possible three-star designation — and could vault into four-star status with strong senior campaigns.

Here is a closer look at all four.

WR I’Marion Stewart, Chicago (Ill.) Kenwood

Stewart started off in the On300 as an underclassman before falling in the rankings. However, Stewart was a consistent top performer at major events this offseason and caught the attention of On3 national at the OT7 finals last month. Stewart transferred to Chicago public school power Kenwood this offseason and should get even more eyeballs on him as a senior. Stewart, who is currently ranked as the No. 75 wide receiver nationally, committed to Michigan in June over fellow finalists Wisconsin.

OL Jake Guarnera, Ponte Vedra (Fla.) High

True center prospects don’t often get a lot of love in the rankings. However, Guarnera is one of the best in the country. Remember, Michigan offensive line coach Sherrone Moore, who knows a thing or two about evaluating players in the trenches, made it a priority to find a center this cycle and zeroed in on Guarnera over some other quality candidates. Ranked as the No. 26 interior offensive lineman nationally, Guarnera committed to Michigan in April over offers from Florida, Florida State, Miami, Ole Miss, Penn State and others.

EDGE Elias Rudolph, Deerfield Beach (Fla.) High

Rudolph was once considered a five-star level prospect by On3 before tumbling way down the rankings and eventually settling in as a high three-star. That’s obviously a dramatic drop, but the tools that made him such a ballyhooed recruit early on are still there. Those around the Michigan program have described Rudolph as an athletic freak. It’s clear he has tremendous upside, but Rudolph has to show some of it on the field this fall. Ranked as the No. 40 EDGE nationally, Rudolph committed to Michigan this month over fellow finalists Miami and Pitt.

DL Ted Hammond, Cincinnati (Ohio) St. Xavier

Hammond has been right on the cusp of four-star status for basically the entire offseason, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him finally move up as a senior. After all, Hammond is a quiet kid that didn’t participate in any major offseason events. That pretty much hurt his chances of rising. However, he’s a multi-sport athlete and has one of the highest floors in the class. Hammond also plays in a great league and will have every chance to showcase his talents this fall. Ranked as the No. 33 defensive lineman nationally, Hammond committed to Michigan in January over offers from Iowa, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Washington and others.
