Michigan landed a big commitment on Wednesday afternoon as four-star Mansfield (Texas) High wide receiver Zion Robinson gave the Wolverines a verbal pledge.

Robinson Recruitment

Michigan extended an offer to Robinson in January after assistant JB Brown, who recruits the Dallas area, made a swing through the state of Texas.

The Wolverines pushed for Robinson this spring and got him on campus for the annual spring game. Robinson returned for his official visit on May 30, and it was there where the Wolverines started taking command of his recruitment.

Robinson also made official visits to Miami, Nebraska, Texas Tech and Stanford. However, Michigan wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy was able to win him over.

Here is what Holland had to say about Robinson.

“Robinson checks all the boxes from a metrics standpoint,” Holland said. “He’s a legit 6-foot-2. He runs a sub 11 100-meter. He was the Texas high jump state champion in the largest classification as an underclassman. He’s also a star basketball player. However, Robinson still needs to polish up as a route runner and actual wide receiver. His potential is through the roof, though, and he has the tools to be a game breaker for the Wolverines. This was a really good win for Michigan wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy.”

At 6-foot-2, 175 pounds, Robinson is ranked as the No. 22 wide receiver and No. 160 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Industry Ranking. He is also ranked as the No. 24 overall recruit in the state of Texas.

Michigan now has 14 commits in its 2026 recruiting class — Robinson, Top 100 St. Louis (Mo.) DeSmet defensive lineman Titan Davis, Top 100 Billings (Mont.) Mullen tight end Mason Bonner, three-star Liberty Hill (Texas) High defensive lineman Alister Vallejo, three-star Dallas (Texas) Parish Episcopal wide receiver Jaylen Pile, three-star Hinsdale (Ill.) Central kicker Micah Drescher, Columbus (Ohio) St. Francis DeSales running back Jonathan Brown and Phoenix (Ariz.) O’Connor long snapper Colton Dermer.

Michigan entered the day with the No. 23 ranked 2026 recruiting class nationally, per the On3 Industry team recruiting rankings. Michigan is also ranked No. 12 in the Big Ten. USC currently has the top class in the conference.

Michigan also has the No. 12 ranked transfer portal class this cycle, per the On3 transfer portal index.
