Carr Recruitment

Carr gave Miami (Ohio) an early verbal commitment before seeing his stock rise as a senior.

This season, Carr passed for 2,797 yards and 37 touchdowns with only five interceptions. He also rushed for 300 yards and eight scores.

It’s no secret Michigan needs more capable passers in its quarterback room. The Wolverines worked on Carr behind the scenes and eventually flipped the Saline (Mich.) High prospect away from Miami (Ohio).

Here is what Holland had to say about Carr.

“I really like Tommy Carr,” Holland said. “I think this is a great late addition for the Wolverines. Michigan needs more capable arms behind Bryce Underwood. Carr can provide depth, but he’s also a guy who can compete for the starting job down the line. He had a really strong senior season. I think he’s better than fellow quarterback commit Brady Smigiel.”

Carr is the grandson of former Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr.

Tommy is ranked as the No. 57 quarterback and 972 overall recruit nationally, per the Rivals Industry Ranking. He is also ranked as the No. 18 overall recruit in the state of Michigan for this cycle.

Michigan has 25 commits in its 2026 recruiting class — five-star Mineral (Va.) Louisa County running back Savion Hiter, five-star Washington (D.C.)
