Davis Recruitment
Michigan extended an offer to Davis way back in May of last year.
U-M defensive line coach Lou Esposito made Davis a top priority and got him on campus for a game in the fall and again for another unofficial visit in the spring.
Davis returned to Michigan for an official visit this weekend, and Esposito and company were able to seal the deal. Davis picked Michigan over fellow finalist Alabama.
Here is what Holland had to say about Davis.
“This was another big win over Alabama on the recruiting trail,” Holland said. “Esposito went head-to-head with Alabama and beat them out for Davis. In Davis, Michigan is getting a versatile defensive lineman who can play across the front. I like him as a 4i, but he’s a guy who could add weight and play the three or even the nose. A lot will depend on where his body takes him. Overall, he’s a very quality land for the Wolverines.”
At -6-foot-4, 262 pounds, Davis is ranked as the No. 9 defensive lineman and No. 104 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Industry Ranking. He is also ranked as the No. 2 overall recruit in the state of Missouri this cycle.
