Wolverine TV: Can Michigan close with On300 EDGE Lugard Edokpayi?

The Wolverine’s EJ Holland discussed several Michigan recruiting topics on the Wednesday edition of The Wolverine Live recruiting show, including the latest on On300 Forestville (Md.) Bishop McNamara EDGE Lugard Edokpayi.
Watch and listen to Holland share the latest on Michigan recruiting above.
Edokpayi Recruitment
Michigan is looking to add an EDGE late in the cycle and has zeroed in on Edokpayi. The Wolverines extended an offer to the DMV native last month and just made an in-home visit with him and his family on Tuesday.
Michigan is also slated to host Edokpayi for an official visit on Dec. 12. However, the Wolverines face tough competition from Florida State and Texas A&M.
Here is what Holland had to say about the situation.
“I think Michigan is in a good spot,” Holland said. “The in-home visit went really well. Staffer Dylan Roney is really connecting with him on a personal level. I think Jesse Minter and Mike Elston made a good impression on him as well. He likes the EDGE production. He likes the academics. Now, it’s all about getting him on campus for his official visit, and that is slated to take place next week. Florida State and Texas A&M are probably the other two big contenders. I think it’s too close to call right now.”
At 6-foot-7, 215 pounds, Edokpayi is ranked as the No. 19 EDGE and No. 181 overall prospect nationally, per On3. He is also ranked as the No. 3 overall recruit in the state of Maryland this cycle.
