Wolverine TV: Can Michigan flip USC DL commit Deyvid Palepale?

The Wolverine’s EJ Holland and Zach Libby discussed several Michigan recruiting topics on the Wednesday edition of The Wolverine Live recruiting show, including the latest on USC defensive line commit Deyvid Palepale.
Watch and listen to Holland and Libby share the latest on Michigan recruiting above.
Palepale Recruitment
Palepale was considered a Michigan lean early in the recruiting process. However, he committed to childhood favorite USC after making an official visit in the summer.
USC recently fired defensive coordinator Alex Grinch, which has opened the door for Michigan to make a late run before the early signing period. In fact, Michigan is now trending on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 65.7 percent chance of landing him.
Here is what Holland had to say about the situation.
“I feel confident in my prediction, especially after meeting with him yesterday,” Holland said. “(Mike) Elston has turned up the heat. Jesse Minter has been really involved. He already knows some of the commits in the class like Dominic Nichols, Owen Wafle and some of the guys on the East Coast. I really love Michigan’s chances. If they are able to land Palepale, it’s a terrific land right before the early signing period.”
At 6-foot-2, 305 pounds, Palepale is ranked as the No. 79 defensive lineman and No. 787 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Industry Ranking. He is also ranked as the No. 20 overall recruit in the state of Pennsylvania this cycle.
