Wolverine TV: Michigan recruiting intel, thoughts from All-American Bowl practices

The Wolverine’s EJ Holland shared his thoughts on a pair of Michigan signees and provided an update on Top 100 wide receiver Gatlin Bair from the All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas.

Bair Recruitment
Bair made an official visit to Michigan over the summer but opted to stay closer to home and committed to Boise State in August.
However, Boise State recently parted ways with head coach Andy Avalos, which directly led to Bair backing out of his verbal pledge to the Broncos. Bair quickly announced that he would be focusing his attention on Michigan and Oregon moving forward.
Those around the Michigan program are optimistic following his experience in Ann Arbor for The Game in November. He is set to make his final decision next month.
Here is what Holland had to say about the situation.
“Right now, Michigan has the heavy lead on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine,” Holland said. “I do like where the Wolverines are trending in this one. I do think if Jim Harbaugh stays in Ann Arbor, I would expect him to land with the Wolverines. But Bair has taken a cautious approach after decommitting from Boise State. He opted not to sign during the early period. He’s waiting and watching.”
At 6-foot-2, 180 pounds, Bair is ranked as the No. 11 wide receiver and No. 43 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Industry Ranking. He is also ranked as the No. 1 overall recruit in the state of Idaho.
