The Wolverine’s EJ Holland was recently on the road and saw five-star Mansfield (Texas) Lake Ridge offensive tackle Felix Ojo at a spring practice.

Ojo Recruitment

Ojo earned an offer from Michigan last summer during his visit for the annual BBQ at The Big House event in late July.

The Wolverines have made him a top priority over the last year, with both head coach Sherrone Moore and offensive line coach Grant Newsome seeing him on the road in recent months.

Ojo did not visit in the fall or the spring. However, he is set to return to Ann Arbor for his official visit this coming weekend.

Here is what Holland had to say about his recruitment.

“Texas is definitely considered the favorite for Ojo,” Holland said. “The Longhorns are doing everything they can to keep him home, and I would probably side with them right now. However, Michigan checks a lot of boxes for Ojo. He’s a high academic student and loves what Michigan has offer on the academic front. He has a strong personal relationship with Sherrone Moore, who obviously has an offensive line background. He loves the track record and development of offensive linemen. We’ll see how much U-M can move the needle on his OV, especially if they talk NIL.”

Ojo has already made official visits to Florida and Ohio State. He is set to see Texas and Oklahoma following his time at Michigan.

At 6-foot-7, 275 pounds, Ojo is ranked as the No. 3 offensive tackle and No. 6 overall recruit nationally, per the On3 Industry Ranking. He is also ranked as the No. 1 overall recruit in the state of Texas this cycle.

Michigan has seven commits in its 2026 recruiting class — Top 100 Billings (Mont.) West tight end Matt Ludwig, Top 100 Newberry Park (Calif.) High quarterback Brady Smigiel, On300 Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin cornerback Brody Jennings, three-star Cartersville (Ga.) Cass offensive lineman Bear McWhorter, three-star Washington (D.C.) St. John’s EDGE Tariq Boney, three-star Denver (Colo.) Mullen tight end Mason Bonner and three-star Dallas (Texas) Parish Episcopal wide receiver Jaylen Pile.

Michigan entered the day with the No. 19 ranked 2026 recruiting class nationally, per the On3 Industry team recruiting rankings. Michigan is also ranked No. 5 in the Big Ten. USC currently has the top class in the conference.

Michigan also has the No. 10 ranked transfer portal class this cycle, per the On3 transfer portal index.
