Wolverine TV: Which Texas recruits can Michigan land in 2025?

The Wolverine’s EJ Holland discussed several Michigan recruiting topics on the Wednesday edition of The Wolverine Live recruiting show, including the Wolverines’ recruiting efforts in Texas.

Michigan recruiting in Texas

Michigan has pulled a recruit from the state of Texas in each of the last four recruiting cycles.

The Wolverines are once again working hard on several highly touted prospects in the Lone State state in the 2025 class, including On300 Red Oak (Texas) High wide receiver Taz Williams.

Here is what Holland had to say about his recruitment.

“He’s originally from Pennsylvania — actually the Pittsburgh-area,” Holland said. “He worked with the same trainer that trains Michigan commit Cole Sullivan, so that’s a strong connection. But it’s not the end of his connections to Michigan. His wide receiver trainer down in Texas is Margin Hooks, who played with Michigan wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy in the NFL and NFL Europe. When I went down to see Taz Williams in the spring at his training session, Bellamy was actually on the phone with Hooks during that session. Taz Williams is a guy Michigan is a strong contender for. They recently made his Top 5. He has visited campus in the past, and he is looking to make it in for the game against Ohio State.”

Williams is ranked as the No. 39 wide receiver and No. 268 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Industry Recruiting Ranking.
