Just one day after earning an offer from NC State defensive line coach Charley Wiles in early October, St. Petersburg (Fla.) Northside Christian three-star EDGE Jacquey Ferguson Jr. decommitted from UConn. Now, he has made it a full-circle moment as he became the Wolfpack’s latest pledge.

Ferguson, who took an official visit in Raleigh this past weekend ahead of this week’s early signing period, is the No. 113 EDGE in the 2026 cycle. His initial recruitment also included offers from Georgia, USF and Vanderbilt among other programs.

The 6-foot-4, 235-pound pass rusher posted 55 total tackles, including 21 for a loss, with 19 sacks in his breakout senior season. Ferguson also added 103 total tackles, including 22.5 for a loss with 10.5 sacks in his first two varsity seasons during the 2023 and 2024 campaigns.

In addition to his skill set on the football field, Ferguson used his athleticism for the school lacrosse team during his freshman and sophomore seasons. Ferguson scored three goals on 20 total shots in 27 games as a midfielder across his two seasons of varsity lacrosse.
