NC State lost a few tight ends to either graduation or the transfer portal, but it was able to reload at the position this offseason. The Pack landed a commitment from junior college tight end Dante Daniels earlier this month, and he signed with NC State on Wednesday.

Position: Tight end
School: El Dorado (KS) Butler Community College
Height/Weight: 6-6, 260
Other offers: Buffalo, Sam Houston State, Toledo
This season’s stats: 9 receptions for 133 yards and 1 touchdown. He averaged 14.8 yards per catch.
Accolades: No. 2-rated junior college tight end, according to On3.

How Daniels ended up at NC State

Daniels was a standout tight end in the junior college ranks this past fall, which garnered Division I interest. He visited the Pack earlier this month before announcing his commitment to NC State shortly after.

Originally from Ontario, Canada, Daniels said he had his mind made up by Sunday of his official visit after seeing head coach Dave Doeren bless the food before their first dinner together. The family-feeling around that meal stood out to the Wolfpack tight end commit.

Daniels added that Raleigh felt like home with its trees and cleanliness.

Why Daniels picked NC State

“Everyone here is just like one,” Daniels said.

What Daniels brings to NC State

“Recently, a lot of people just think I’m a big tight end, in-line blocker, that’s all I’m going to do, but I think I can create a lot of separation in the pass game where I think I’m a big mismatch,” Daniels said.

“I’m a go-getter,” Daniels said. “Hand down in the dirt, I’ll push someone as far as I can, keep going until the whistle is blown, show aggression, talk some crap a little bit and be electric in the passing game as well. If I catch the ball, I’m not going down. I’m going to keep going until I get to the endzone.”
