Former NC State standout Chucky Brown tabbed as men's basketball radio analyst

There will be a new voice alongside Matt Chazanow on the radio when NC State men’s basketball opens the 2025-26 campaign against NC Central on Nov. 4.
Former Wolfpack standout Chucky Brown was serve as the color analyst for all men’s basketball games on the Wolfpack Sports Network, the program announced Friday afternoon. Brown will replace Tony Haynes, who is set to retire at the end of football season after joining the network in 1998.
“I’m incredibly thankful for this opportunity,” Brown said. “It was an honor to represent NC State as a player, and I’m humbled to now have the chance to return to a program and university that mean so much to me. I’m excited to work alongside Matt Chazanow and the rest of the fantastic Wolfpack Sports Network crew as the men’s basketball program begins an exciting new era under Will Wade.”
Brown, a four-year letterman with the Wolfpack, helped lead NC State to the NCAA Tournament in all of his seasons on campus, including the 1987 ACC Tournament title, under Jim Valvano. An All-ACC First Team selection after averaging 16.4 points and 8.8 rebounds, Brown posted 1,357 points (the 25th-most in program history) on a 55.7 percent shooting mark from the field during his time wearing the red and white.
