How much NC State coach Dave Doeren earned in bonuses after Gasparilla Bowl victory

NC State coach Dave Doeren stood at the 50-yard line inside Raymond James Stadium with an infectious sense of joy. It had been eight years since he was able to claim a postseason trophy, but after beating Memphis 31-7 in the Gasparilla Bowl, Doeren was more than proud to accept the pirate-themed hardware for his program.  After all, the Wolfpack overcame losing four of five in the middle of the season as injuries plagued the team for much of the season. Doeren’s squad, however, didn’t quit and was rewarded with one of the ACC’s strongest finishes of the season as a result. “We had a really tough spot in the middle of our season, the guys stuck together,” Doeren said during the Gasparilla Bowl trophy presentation. “Won four of the last five games, had a top-10 win, beat Florida State, beat that blue team. Came down here, got us a bowl ring. We've got a great spot for this trophy in the Murphy Center.” The Wolfpack’s first bowl win since it beat Arizona State in the 2017 Sun Bowl proved to be lucrative for Doeren financially, too
