If there’s anything about NC State women’s basketball coach Wes Moore, it’s that he tends to get the most out of what he has. He’s done that for most of his first 12 years leading the Wolfpack, including six straight NCAA Tournament appearances with a Final Four, Elite Eight and two trips to the Sweet 16 mixed in. While he’s usually had teams with veteran leaders — see Elissa Cunane, River Baldwin, Aziaha James and Saniya Rivers as a few prime examples — Moore is entering uncharted waters going into the 2025-26 campaign. His roster lacks a senior for the first time since he arrived in Raleigh, instead relying on a young and talented core to help the Pack compete for another ACC title.  Although the team boasts just 10 players, and six of which are either freshmen or sophomores, Moore is confident that his squad will have what it takes to play up to his top-25 standard — as long as it lays a solid foundation in the preseason.  What makes Moore comfortable with his team? Despite being young, nearly every player on the roster is battle-tested and has played in the biggest moments in women’s college basketball. He isn’t concerned about youthfulness, rather it could be used as a strength going into the 2025-26 season.  And it starts in summer on-court workouts, which began last week inside Reynolds Coliseum.
