Inside NC State’s approach to Maui Invitational, why Will Wade is taking it game by game

After opening the Will Wade Era with four straight wins at the Lenovo Center, NC State is set to board a plane for the first time this season as it heads west to the Maui Invitational. Wade, who took LSU to the tournament in 2017, is more than excited to bring his team to Hawaii for the first time in his Wolfpack tenure. “We’re happy to be in it,” Wade said. “It’s a great tournament. It’s a storied tournament. It’s a cool place and it’ll be a good experience for our players.” The Pack, which will open its three-game stay in Maui with Seton Hall on Monday, has been intentional in its planning for the cross-country trek. Not only will the program have a chance to test its science-backed approach to the travel, but it will also have the opportunity to add to its NCAA Tournament resume for March.
