NC State adds commitment from 3-star WR Jaire Richburg

It became clear where NC State stood with Kernersville (N.C.) East Forsyth three-star wide receiver Jaire Richburg over the past month. He took an official visit to Virginia Tech before spending time on the Wolfpack’s campus for three straight weeks, including an official.
All signs pointed toward the Pack landing the route runner, but now it’s a reality. Richburg announced his commitment to NC State on Thursday evening, picking the Wolfpack over the Hokies in his decision.
Richburg, who went through a pair of private workouts with Wolfpack wide receivers coach Joker Phillips this month, previously said the position coach was a key factor in his recruitment.
“I like Joker, not only on the field, but his personality fits mine,” Richburg told TheWolfpacker.com earlier this month. “He’s a crazy guy, but he can lock in when it’s time to lock in. My family sees him like a coach that I can develop under.”
Richburg, who plans to enroll early for the spring 2026 semester, also had a tight connection with NC State quarterback commit Jacob Smith, who made several attempts to recruit him over the past six months. Those efforts, coupled with NC State’s consistent recruiting, led Richburg to Raleigh.
