NC State basketball ranked in both top 25 polls
For the first time this season, NC State basketball is ranked in both of the respective polls. The Wolfpack checks in at No. 23 in the updated Associated Press top 25 poll, down one spot from a week ago. However, NC State also vaulted into the USA Today Sports Men’s Basketball Coaches’ top 25 at No. 22.
NC State is 20-6 overall and 10-5 in the ACC after splitting games last week, losing at No. 6/7 Virginia, who received a first-place vote in the coaches’ rankings, and then routing Boston College on the road.
This week the Pack travels to Syracuse for a Tuesday evening tipoff and then hosts rival North Carolina, who owns a prior win over NC State in Chapel Hill, for a showdown in Raleigh on Sunday.

The only other ranked team from the ACC besides NC State and Virginia is Miami at No. 15 in the AP and No. 13 in coaches’ edition. NC State split a pair of games with Miami, with each team winning on their respective home court. The Wolfpack’s victory occurred in overtime.

The only non-conference team NC State has played this year that is ranked is No. 9 Kansas, who knocked off the Wolfpack in a tight game in the Bahamas.
