NC State football 2025 opponent preview: Georgia Tech

When Georgia Tech and NC State hit the field for a midweek tilt last November, it turned into a fourth-quarter shootout inside Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta. The two squads combined to score 36 points in the final 15 minutes, including a Hollywood Smothers 53-yard touchdown scamper. Although the Wolfpack led with 90 seconds left, the Yellow Jackets responded with a score in the final 30 seconds and held on for the 30-29 win after Collin Smith’s 58-yard field goal just missed wide left. Since last season’s meeting provided several fireworks, this year’s battle inside Carter-Finley Stadium on Nov. 1 is sure to deliver much of the same excitement. Georgia Tech returns 14 starters from a year ago, including several key playmakers from 2024 to make the rematch that much more juicy.
