NC State football 2025 opponent preview: Miami

Out with one high-profile quarterback — Heisman Trophy winner Cam Ward, the No. 1 pick in this year’s NFL Draft — and in with another — former Georgia star Carson Beck. That’s what Miami’s offseason looked like. The Hurricanes, which aren’t afraid to spend NIL money on their roster, did just that by acquiring Beck, who led the Bulldogs to the SEC Championship last fall, with a $4 million deal that could grow to $6 million, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. Now, Miami hopes that Beck can rekindle his magic from Georgia before an elbow injury sidelined him in the College Football Playoff with the Hurricanes this season. He’s a proven SEC quarterback that has an opportunity to lead a storied program back to the national spotlight in the postseason. But to do so, Beck and the Hurricanes will have to get through NC State on Nov. 15 in Coral Gables, Fla. — the Wolfpack’s final road game of the 2025 campaign.
