NC State football 2025 opponent preview: UNC

After handing former North Carolina coach Mack Brown a loss in his final game as the Tar Heels’ coach last fall, NC State is set to clash with another legendary coach clad in Carolina Blue: Bill Belichick. The eight-time Super Bowl champion arrived in the Triangle as a splashy hire in mid-December, and since that point, Belichick has become the sole focus of the college football offseason. He was the talk of ACC Kickoff in Charlotte with more than 40 cameras following his every move, looking to get a glimpse at the oldest first-year coach in the FBS.  Belichick’s legacy as an NFL coach has some believing that he’ll be able to replicate that same success in the ACC, but as a first-time college coach, there is a sense of unknown.
